The Camino and the Rambler

As those 2 generations younger than I might say: only 74 sleeps to go before I have the ‘pleasure’ of flying with Ryanair from Dublin to Biarritz then coach to Bayonne then then the 90 minute scenic train trip to St Jean Pied de Port.
The reason for the trip: to arrive at  the starting point for the Camino Frances route to Santigo de Compestela, part of one of the 3 great pilgrimage routes of the Middle Ages.

  1. Seamus, I’ve seen your posts on the forum. Keep up the good thoughts. I walked last September from Saint Jean Pied de Port and will be returning this September to do it again. I keep explaining to those that don’t know – “once bitten”. You will have the time of your life.

    • Thanks Arlene, I did the ‘baby’ camino last year with my better half so really looking forward to the full immersion that 4 weeks will bring – the Meseta, Route Napoleon, the Dragonte route variant, either Granon or Tosantos and if the legs hold up, reaching the coast at Muxia will all hopefully be experienced while in good enough health to enjoy. Best wishes for your camino in September.
